In Southern Oregon there are plenty of hiking trails, rivers, mountains and streams to enjoy all year long.  Also, Southern Oregon has a much more temperate climate, with sunny skies year-round and much less rainfall than the Portland area, which is known for it’s wet weather and webbed “duck feet.”

GETTING TO KNOW COLLEEN
I first became a real estate agent in 1980, but decided to return to college and finish my degree.  In 1985, I received a Bachelor of Science degree from Southern Oregon University (then Southern Oregon State College), cum laude, in General Studies/Communication.  I became a television reporter for about a year, and decided I wanted to stay in Southern Oregon rather than move from market to market.  I ran the Southern Oregon Visitors Association (SOVA), a tourism marketing organization, and in 1991, became an announcer and producer for Jefferson Public Radio.  I continue to volunteer for Jefferson Public Radio, and Southern Oregon Public Television, as I continue my real estate career.

KNOWLEDGE OF OREGON IS A PLUS
Because of my background in tourism and marketing, and being well-known as a radio personality, I have a thorough knowledge of the people and places that make up Southern Oregon.  I have hiked Southern Oregon trails for over 26 years, skied the high country, and rafted the Rogue River for over 19 years.  I have chosen Southern Oregon as my home as it offers a lifestyle that is hard to come by in this fast-paced world – culture, plus space to live and grow.
